Limerick Chess Club Junior Chess team got off to a great start winning 7/8 games in the West of Ireland League. Rounds 1 and 2 were held in the West County hotel in Ennis on Sunday October 16th. See score board above.

The Ennis team (who all play in Limerick), put up a strong display against Limerick in the first round and the good result for Limerick doesn't properly reflect the Ennis lads efforts.

Round 5 and the League Final were held in the Shearwater Hotel in Ballinasloe on Sunday January 15th.
Limerick Junior Chess Team took round 5 by 4-0 v Briarhill (with a bit of luck on their side). This gave them 14/20 for the League after 5 rounds.

After 5 rounds with Limerick on (14) and Ennis on (13.5) - the Final pairing competed for First and Second places. Limerick beat Ennis 3.5-0.5 to take First place in the West of Ireland League this year.
