- This non-rated event was open to all chess players or members of the public who know the Rules of chess .
- The tournament was held outdoors in fairly good weather under the shelter of 4 gazebos.

Number of entries were limited to 16 due to social distancing rules, with 8 boards played and the final played on the giant chess board.
- Face masks were recommended.
- The Arbiter was Neal Kirby.
- Sets & clocks were provided at the venue by the Limerick chess club.
