The Limerick Open 2025 was held on 28th-30th November at the West County hotel Ennis. There were 97 entries in both the Philip Hogarty Open(68 players ) and the Under 1400 Sections(29 players).

Phillip Hogarty Open:
Joint First prize: FM Stephen Jessell(Blitz Tie break winner, Gonzaga), FM Rory Quinn(Ennis) and Jamie Comley(Limerick) who all finished on 4.5/5 points.
In Round 5, the top seed FM Stephen Jessell won his final round game against Padraig Hughes, FM Rory Quinn beat IM Oleg Gubanov and Jamie Comley won against Piotr Leichert so there was a blitz game tie break Playoff among the joint winners and FM Jessell won both his games to earn the perpetual trophy which is a solid two tier wooden carved chess set with a chess problem position.

1500-1699 - Kevin McInerney(Ennis) on 4/5 points
0-1499 - Alexander Kozlov on 3/5 points

Unrated and underrated Teva Shuman won in the Limerick U-1400 section with a clean sweep score of 5/5, being presented with her trophy and prize money by Club President Ray O'Brien.
Ike Ogbuchi was one of the 2 joint 2nd prize winners in the 2025 Limerick U-1400 section, scoring 4/5 points, receiving trophy and prize money from Ray O'Brien.
Sahil Rabbani who scored 4/5 points was the other of the 2 joint 2nd prize winners in the 2025 Limerick U-1400 section.
